The Ericsson Cradlepoint S700 is the semi-ruggedized LTE router for equipment and vehicles that need more than a cabinet box: an aluminum housing, two gigabit ports, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, active GNSS, ignition sensing on 9 to 33 VDC, and a 480 Mbps stateful firewall. It carries MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration, SAE J1455 vehicle, and EN 61373 rail ratings.
That combination makes it the go-to for utility trucks, transit and rail equipment, mobile assets, and industrial sites where a plastic-housed IoT router would not last. It is FirstNet Trusted, so public-safety fleets can use it for secondary vehicles and equipment that do not justify an R1900.
What the SKU includes: every option on this page bundles the router with its Ericsson NetCloud plan for the term you choose (IoT Essentials, or IoT Essentials + Advanced, for 1, 3, or 5 years). NetCloud is required to configure and manage Cradlepoint hardware, and the hardware warranty runs for as long as the plan is active.

Right for you if
- The router rides in a truck, bus, rail car, or trailer and needs ignition sensing
- You want Wi-Fi 6 for tablets, cameras, or a crew network on the vehicle
- Two wired ports are needed for a camera and an MDT or controller
- FirstNet Trusted hardware is required but an R1900 is more than the vehicle needs
S700 vs. S750 vs. R980
Choose the S700 for LTE with Wi-Fi in a rugged housing. The S750 is the same router without Wi-Fi. When the vehicle needs 5G and 940 Mbps of firewall, move to the R980, or to the R1900 for four gigabit ports. For a cabinet or kiosk that never moves, the S400 costs less.

FAQ
Is it FirstNet approved?
Yes. The S700-C4D is FirstNet Trusted and also certified for T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline. RCN can provision it on a FirstNet SIM before it ships.
Is the NetCloud subscription included?
Yes. Each SKU pairs the S700 with the NetCloud plan and term shown in the option name. Renewals are quoted before the term ends so the device never drops off management.
Does it come with antennas and a power supply?
Yes. Cradlepoint's ordering guide lists the S700 part numbers sold here (TB03, TB05, TBA3, and TBA5-0700C4D-NN) as including an AC power supply and antennas. The antennas are two external cellular paddle antennas that attach to the router's SMA connectors.
Can we purchase on a purchase order or government contract?
Yes. RCN sells through GSA Schedule and cooperative contracts including NASPO ValuePoint, Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners, and Equalis Group, and can invoice approved accounts on a PO.
What if it turns out to be the wrong model?

Antennas that fit the S700
The S700 has two SMA cellular connectors, two RP-SMA Wi-Fi connectors, and one SMA GNSS connector. For a vehicle roof, a cabinet, or a spot with weak signal, these Panorama antennas match those ports:
- Panorama SH-IN2617 Sharkee kit: 2x2 MIMO cellular, 2x2 Wi-Fi, and GPS in a roof-mounted shark fin. Covers 617–960 and 1710–6000 MHz, with 5 m cables. Choose the SH-IN2617 option to include Wi-Fi.
