Ericsson Cradlepoint S400

The Ericsson Cradlepoint S400 is a palm-size LTE Cat 6 router for equipment that needs a secure, managed cellular link and nothing more: kiosks, ATMs, vending, digital signage, SCADA cabinets, and remote monitoring. It has one gigabit port, single-radio Wi-Fi 5 for local devices, dual SIMs, and a modular slot for serial, dual Ethernet, or GPIO.

It runs on 9 to 33 VDC or 802.3af PoE, survives -20 to 60 C, and carries MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration plus Class I Div 2 hazardous-location ratings, so it goes into cabinets, vehicles, and industrial sites without an enclosure. NetCloud IoT plans add zero-trust policy per device.

What the SKU includes: every option on this page bundles the router with its Ericsson NetCloud plan for the term you choose (IoT Essentials, or IoT Essentials + Advanced, for 1, 3, or 5 years). NetCloud is required to configure and manage Cradlepoint hardware, and the hardware warranty runs for as long as the plan is active.

S400 vs. S450 vs. S700

Choose the S400 when you need Wi-Fi. The S450 is the same router without Wi-Fi for sites where policy prohibits a radio or the cost matters. FAQ

Is 300 Mbps enough for a kiosk or SCADA site?
Yes. These sites typically move a few megabits at most. The reasons to buy an S400 over a consumer hotspot are dual SIM, NetCloud zero-trust policy, PoE and DC power, and the environmental ratings, not raw speed.

Is the NetCloud subscription included?
Yes. Each SKU pairs the S400 with the NetCloud plan and term shown in the option name. Renewals are quoted before the term ends so the device never drops off management.

Does it come with antennas and a power supply?
Yes. Cradlepoint's ordering guide lists the S400 part numbers sold here (TBT3, TBT5, TBV3, and TBV5-0400-C6-NA-N) as including an AC power supply and antennas. The antennas are two external cellular paddle antennas that attach to the router's SMA connectors.

Can we purchase on a purchase order or government contract?
