Product Overview
The Ericsson Cradlepoint S450 is the S400 without a Wi-Fi radio: the same LTE Cat 6 modem, gigabit port, dual SIMs, GNSS, module slot, DC or PoE power, and MIL-STD-810H ratings, in the same palm-size housing. It exists for two buyers: sites where policy or the environment prohibits a wireless LAN, and fleets that never needed one and would rather not pay for it.
Financial, healthcare, and secure-facility deployments are the obvious case. So are pole-mounted cabinets, meters, and controllers where the only client is a wired PLC. It draws less power than the S400 (2.9 W idle) and carries the same Class I Div 2 and ATEX 2 hazardous-location ratings.
What the SKU includes: every option on this page bundles the router with its Ericsson NetCloud plan for the term you choose (IoT Essentials, or IoT Essentials + Advanced, for 1, 3, or 5 years). NetCloud is required to configure and manage Cradlepoint hardware, and the hardware warranty runs for as long as the plan is active.

Right for you if
- Policy prohibits a Wi-Fi radio at the site (banking, healthcare, secure facilities)
- The only client is wired: a PLC, meter, camera, or controller
- You are buying in quantity for a fleet of cabinets and Wi-Fi would be dead weight
- Power budget is tight; the S450 idles under 3 W
S450 vs. S400 vs. S750
Choose the S450 when there is no Wi-Fi client. The S400 adds Wi-Fi 5 for a local tablet or technician access. The S750 is the no-Wi-Fi model one class up: aluminum housing, two gigabit ports, a 480 Mbps firewall, and rail and vehicle ratings.

FAQ
Can I add Wi-Fi later?
No. The S450 has no radio and no Wi-Fi connector. If there is any chance the site needs Wi-Fi, buy the S400; the price difference is small.
Is the NetCloud subscription included?
Yes. Each SKU pairs the S450 with the NetCloud plan and term shown in the option name. Renewals are quoted before the term ends so the device never drops off management.
Does it come with antennas and a power supply?
Yes. Cradlepoint's ordering guide lists the S450 part numbers sold here (TBT3, TBT5, TBV3, and TBV5-0450-C6-NA-N) as including an AC power supply and antennas. The antennas are two external cellular paddle antennas that attach to the router's SMA connectors.
Can we purchase on a purchase order or government contract?
Yes. RCN sells through GSA Schedule and cooperative contracts including NASPO ValuePoint, Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners, and Equalis Group, and can invoice approved accounts on a PO.
What if it turns out to be the wrong model?

Antennas that fit the S450
The S450 has two SMA cellular connectors. When the router sits inside a metal cabinet or kiosk, an external antenna usually improves signal. These Panorama 2x2 MIMO antennas connect to those ports:
- Panorama DMM-6-60 desk antenna: 2x2 MIMO cellular on a desk or window mount, for moving signal pickup away from a closet or cabinet. Covers 617–960, 1427–2700, and 3400–6000 MHz, with 2 m cables. Choose the SMA Male option.
- Panorama LPAM-BC3G-26 low-profile antenna: 2x2 MIMO cellular in a single-hole panel-mount housing rated IP66, suited to kiosks, cabinets, and equipment. Covers 698–960 and 1710–3800 MHz.
- Panorama WMMG-7-38 wall/mast antenna: 2x2 MIMO directional wide-beam antenna for an outside wall or mast, rated IP65. Choose the SMA Male (5 m) option.
