The Panorama LPBEM-6-60 is a low cost, low profile magnetic mount antenna for temporary installs. It is a single-element (SISO) antenna, so it suits modems and devices with one cellular port, or two units can be spaced apart to serve a 2x2 MIMO router.

It covers 617-960 and 1710-6000 MHz with peak gain up to 8 dBi on a ground plane. At 96 mm (3.7 in) high, the high-impact radome stands up to daily wear, and the magnetic base is rated for speeds up to 160 km/h (100 mph). It is intended for a conductive ground plane such as a vehicle roof but can be used on a desk with some loss of performance.

Is the LPBEM-6-60 a MIMO antenna?
No. The LPBEM-6-60 is a single-element (SISO) antenna with one cable. Panorama notes that multiple units can be deployed, suitably separated, for MIMO applications. For a 2x2 MIMO router, two LPBEM antennas spaced apart can work, or choose a dual-element antenna such as the DMM-6-60.

Does it need a metal surface?
The magnetic base needs a ferrous metal surface to hold, and Panorama rates its gain on a conductive ground plane. It can be used on a desk for convenience, but Panorama notes some impact on performance. A vehicle roof or metal cabinet top gives the best results.

Is it rated for highway speeds?
Panorama rates the LPBEM-6-60 magnetic mount for speeds up to 160 km/h (100 mph) and lists ingress protection equivalent to IPX6. As with any magnetic antenna, mount it on a clean, flat steel surface and route the cable so it is not pinched by a door or hatch seal.

What connector does it use?
The LPBEM-6-60-2SP has a 2 meter (6.5 foot) RG174 cable terminated in an SMA male connector. That fits most cellular routers and modems with SMA female ports. If your device uses TS9 or another connector, you will need a matching adapter, which adds a small amount of loss.
