Product Overview

Panorama LPAM4-7-42 4:1 Antenna, 4x4 MIMO 4G/5G for IoT Applications, 698-4200 MHz

The LPAM4-7-42 MIMO antenna is designed to be a one size fits all solution for IOT applications. The robust low profile housing contains four 4G LTE / 5G NR elements covering 698-960/1427-4200 MHz. It is constructed from robust, flame retardant, impact resistant plastic. The subtle, curved design makes the antenna harder to vandalise and the IK10 rating ensures that the product is suitable for use in tough environments and devices located in public areas.

The housing is UV stable and approved to IP69K for ingress protection. The antenna is supplied with integrated low loss flame retardant cables approved to UN ECE R118 and fitted connectors offer plug and play connectivity for a huge range of devices.

The LPAM4-7-42 can be installed on conductive or non-conductive panels without significant detriment to performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Panorama LPAM4-7-42 (Clam) and what applications is it designed for?
The LPAM4-7-42—nicknamed 'Clam' for its curved, low-profile shell shape—is a 4-in-1 combination antenna containing four independently fed 4G LTE / 5G NR elements in a single housing. It is purpose-built as a one-size-fits-all solution for IoT and M2M applications, including public-area kiosks, transit fare systems, industrial IoT gateways, and any deployment where ruggedness, compact size, and vandal resistance are priorities.
What frequency bands does the LPAM4-7-42 cover?
The LPAM4-7-42 covers 698–960 MHz and 1427–4200 MHz, providing support for global 4G LTE bands as well as 5G NR sub-6 GHz spectrum including the 3.5 GHz (n78) CBRS and international mid-band ranges up to 4.2 GHz. Peak gain is 6.3 dBi. GPS is not included in this model.
How is the LPAM4-7-42 mounted and installed?
The LPAM4-7-42 installs via a through-hole panel mount using an M18 (¾-inch) mounting bush. It can be installed on both conductive and non-conductive panels without significant impact on RF performance. Its curved, low-profile design makes it difficult to grip or vandalize, and the IK10 impact rating means it can withstand significant physical abuse—making it suitable for public and outdoor installations.
What is the MIMO configuration and what connectors and cables does it use?
The LPAM4-7-42 is a 4:1 antenna with four separately fed LTE elements providing 4x4 MIMO capability. All four elements terminate in SMA male connectors via integrated CS30 coaxial cables (flame retardant, compliant with UN ECE R118 for vehicle use). Available cable lengths are 0.5 m, 1 m, 2 m, and 3 m. Impedance is 50 ohms; maximum input power is 5 watts per port.
Is the LPAM4-7-42 compatible with Ericsson Cradlepoint routers?
Yes. The LPAM4-7-42's SMA male connectors and 4x4 MIMO LTE capability make it directly compatible with Ericsson Cradlepoint routers that support 4x4 MIMO, including the R1900 and IBR1700 series. Its 698–4200 MHz coverage encompasses all LTE bands used by Cradlepoint modems.
What are the environmental ratings and certifications for the LPAM4-7-42?
The LPAM4-7-42 carries an IP69K ingress protection rating (the highest available—resistant to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets) and an IK10 impact rating for resistance to strong physical impacts. It is constructed from Lexan EXL 9330, a UV-stable, flame-retardant, impact-resistant polycarbonate blend. Operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F), making it suitable for extreme environments.
