Product Overview

Panorama WMMG-7-38 External 5G/4G MIMO Cellular Antenna with 5 dBi Gain

Wireless network infrastructures have many engineering considerations. Acquiring a weak cellular signal due to terrain, interference, and distance is just one of the complexities. To boost a weak cellular signal, a directional antenna like Panorama’s WMMG-7-38 is an excellent choice. It is stronger and more reliable than the paddle antennas provided with wireless equipment like a standard cellular router. The WMMG-7-38 antenna provides an innovative and future proof solution for 3G/4G and 3.4 - 3.8 GHz 5G networks. Incorporating two separately fed, ultra wideband elements in a single housing, it provides a client side 2x2 MIMO antenna system for the networks of today and tomorrow. With between 2 - 5dBi gain in the range 698 - 3800 MHz, the WMMG-7-38 gives great performance, while maintaining a wide beam pattern which is ideal for metro and urban areas.

The rugged, weatherproof housing is designed for wall or mast mounting and hardware is provided. A desk stand is also included to enable the antenna to be positioned on a window sill if preferred. The antenna is supplied with integral “twinned” CS29 coaxial cable. The WMMG-7-38-5SP version has 5m length, fitted with SMA plug connectors for a simple ‘plug & play’ installation. The WMMG-7-38-03NJ version has 30cm length, fitted with N socket connectors, which enables use of lower loss cable types for longer runs.

The WMMG-7-38 is a cost effective value added product for network operators and service providers ensuring a stable network connection with improved data rates for subscribers, improving satisfaction and retention.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Panorama WMMG-7-38 and what is it designed for?
The WMMG-7-38 is a compact 2x2 MIMO external-mount antenna for 4G LTE and 5G NR networks. Unlike the larger WMM8G-7-38 panel antenna, the WMMG-7-38 is a cost-effective, versatile unit offering moderate directional gain and a wide beam pattern—making it well-suited for metro and urban environments where a broad coverage angle is preferred over narrow beam precision. It can be wall-mounted, mast-mounted, or placed on a desk or window sill, giving it flexibility for both indoor-facing and outdoor installations.
What frequency bands does the WMMG-7-38 cover?
The WMMG-7-38 covers 698–960 MHz, 1710–2700 MHz, and 3400–3800 MHz—providing support for global 4G LTE low-band, mid-band, and the 3.4–3.8 GHz 5G NR range (n77/n78) used by carriers in the US, Europe, and Asia. Peak gain is 5 dBi across the 698–3800 MHz range. Note: this model does not extend above 3.8 GHz, so it does not cover the full sub-6 GHz 5G spectrum. For coverage through 6 GHz, see the WMM4G-6-60.
What mounting options does the WMMG-7-38 support?
The WMMG-7-38 supports three mounting configurations, with all hardware included: wall mount (screws), mast/pole mount (U-bolt or clamp), and desktop/window-sill stand. This versatility makes it useful for both permanent outdoor wall installations and temporary or indoor deployments on a window sill. Antenna dimensions are 155 × 155 mm.
What is the MIMO configuration and what connector types are available?
The WMMG-7-38 is a 2:1 antenna with two independently fed wideband elements providing 2x2 MIMO capability. Cables are 'twinned' CS29 coaxial, meaning both cellular cables are bundled together for clean routing. Two configurations: SMA male connectors with 5-meter (16-foot) cables (model -5SP), or N-type female connectors with 0.3-meter (1-foot) pig-tail cables (model -03NJ) for use with low-loss external cable runs. Maximum input power is 20 watts; impedance is 50 ohms; VSWR is less than 2:1.
Is the WMMG-7-38 compatible with Ericsson Cradlepoint routers, and what are its environmental ratings?
Yes. The WMMG-7-38's SMA male or N-type female connectors and 698–3800 MHz coverage are compatible with Ericsson Cradlepoint cellular routers. It is IP65 rated (fully dustproof, protected against water jets) and is rated for operating temperatures from -30°C to +80°C (-22°F to +176°F). The white UV-stable ASA radome is designed for permanent outdoor installations.
