Enterprise-Grade 5G Connectivity for Large-Scale Vehicle and Public-Sector Deployments

The Cradlepoint R1900 is Ericsson's most capable single-modem ruggedized 5G vehicle router — engineered for agencies and organizations that need to support multiple simultaneous users across demanding mobile environments. Certified on FirstNet Trusted™, Verizon Frontline, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes, and T-Mobile T-Priority networks, the R1900 delivers priority access to public safety communications exactly when it counts. With four GbE LAN/WAN switchable ports, embedded Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), discrete active GNSS with dead reckoning, and optional dual-modem capability via the RX30-MC accessory, the R1900 is purpose-built for transit agencies, law enforcement fleets, emergency services, and K-12 school transportation that demand zero-compromise uptime. Operating from -30°C to 75°C (-22°F to 167°F) and managed through Ericsson NetCloud Manager, the PNK R1900 ships as a complete, turnkey solution — hardware, NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan, and RCN onboarding support included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the PNK R1900?
The PNK R1900 is RCN Technologies' ruggedized Pop-Up Network Kit built around the Ericsson Cradlepoint R1900. It's a self-contained portable Wi-Fi system — router, antenna, battery indicator, chargers — all in a weatherproof case designed for field use. One button press deploys a secure 5G or LTE network anywhere, with no configuration, no technician, and no technical knowledge required.
What is the difference between the PNK R1900 Single Modem and Dual Modem?
The Single Modem configuration runs one Cradlepoint R1900 router with one cellular connection — sufficient for most deployments. The Dual Modem configuration adds a second independent modem, enabling simultaneous connection to two separate carriers. That means double the bandwidth and true hardware-level redundancy: if one carrier goes down completely, the other is already active.
How quickly can it be deployed?
Single button press. The PNK R1900 is pre-provisioned by RCN's in-house team before it ships. When you need it, you press a button — the network is up within minutes. No IT staff required on-site. Volunteers, first responders, or field staff can deploy it.
What are the range and capacity specs?
The PNK R1900 broadcasts a portable Wi-Fi network up to 300 feet from the internal antenna. It supports up to 100 simultaneous connected devices. An external Panorama Mako antenna can extend range further. The kit ships with both a wall charger and a vehicle charger.
What is the PNK R1900 used for?
Emergency response, election infrastructure, mobile command centers, temporary facilities, remote field operations, and anywhere permanent internet infrastructure is unavailable or has failed. The Frederick Firestone Fire District carries one in the truck on every call. Counties use them to keep clerk's offices online when lightning knocks out service on election day.
Is the PNK R1900 available on GSA Schedule?
Yes. The PNK is available on the GSA Schedule, NASPO ValuePoint, Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners, and Equalis Group. Government agencies can procure without a full competitive bid process. Learn more at rcntechnologies.com/government-procurement-contract
